Fenwick Elliott speaking at Construction Law Summer School 2017

Fenwick Elliott is delighted to have three of our Partners, Simon Tolson, Nicholas Gould and Jeremy Glover speak at the Construction Law Summer School this week.

Held at the Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University, this Construction Law Summer School reviews the most recent developments in international construction law and the legal changes affecting the construction industry. The event provides a detailed guide on all key aspects of international construction and engineering law, exploring both real cases and practical examples.

Yesterday, Jeremy Glover delivered a presentation on FIDIC and NEC which focused on recent developments, comparisons between the NEC4 and FIDIC and looked at how the FIDIC contract operates in different jurisdictions.

Senior Partner, Simon Tolson will today be speaking about Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR); what it is, why you would opt for it and how to prepare for ADR. On the final day of the Construction Law Summer School, Nicholas Gould will look at bonds, advance payment bonds and guarantees. His presentation will cover contracts of safety, distinctions between bonds and guarantees and practical challenges including invalidity fraud and bad faith.
