Caitlin has experience assisting in a range of non-contentious matters, including reviewing and negotiating the terms of construction documentation on behalf of main contractors, developers and consultants. She has experience reviewing, negotiating and advising on industry standard forms of contract such as JCT and NEC, as well as bespoke forms of ancillary documentation, and her experience spans sectors including residential, regeneration, and major energy projects.

Examples of Caitlin’s expertise include:

  • assisting in the preparation of a full suite of template construction documentation for use by a leading developer across multiple affordable and mixed-use housing developments across London;
  • assisting in the negotiation of a building contract to refurbish a £150 million ultra high-end luxury apartment in Knightsbridge on behalf of the contractor;
  • assisting a high net worth individual in relation to the procurement, drafting and negotiating of professional appointments and collateral warranties for a residential redevelopment;
  • assisting with preparing and advising on ancillary documents to framework agreements for use by an international energy, engineering and construction company across multiple projects;
  • advising various fit-out contractors in relation to the negotiation of building contracts across office, residential and commercial refurbishments;
  • advising a subcontractor in relation to the step-down of the main contract to a project into its subcontract;
  • assisting in advising a tier one contractor on the negotiation of a pre-construction services agreement; and
  • advising contractors, consultants and suppliers in relation to various queries relating to the application of the Building Safety Act 2022 and its associated secondary legislation.
