ICE London Graduates and Students Committee: Decoding Reasonable Skill and Care, and Fitness for Purpose

Monday, 23 April, 2018, 6.30pm

Fenwick Elliott Senior Associate, Philip Barnes will be speaking at the ICE London Graduates and Student Committee: Decoding Reasonable Skill and Care, and Fitness for Purpose on Monday, 23 April.

This talk will review the difference between “reasonable skill and care” obligations and “fitness for purpose” obligations, particularly with regard to recent case law arising from engineering work, and why the difference is important to professional engineers.

It will consider how these obligations can arise and briefly what can be done to mitigate or contain the effect of the obligations.
