We are proud to support the 10,000 Interns Foundation by offering paid work experience and helping to create a sustainable cycle of mentorship and sponsorship for members of the Black community. Over the past five years, we have welcomed an intern each year and worked alongside two of our contractor clients and counsel connections. This approach gives interns valuable experience across a law firm environment, in-house teams and chambers, helping to broaden their professional exposure and support their development.

We actively support initiatives that address under-representation and help create a more inclusive profession. Partner Claire King served on the Adjudication Society steering group that established the Equal Representation in Adjudication Pledge and founded the “Women in Adjudication” group, creating opportunities for mentorship, connection and support.

We are helping to shape an ED&I initiative for TECSA focused on improving diversity and addressing the under-representation of minority groups and women within the sector. Having recognised the need for this work early on, senior partner Karen Gidwani has been co-opted onto the committee leading the initiative forward.

Inspired by an idea that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, we host an annual charity run to mark Mental Health Week. In May 2026, 300 friends and colleagues ran, walked and jogged in Battersea Park in support of the Stroke Association and The Migraine Trust.

We also support our community through hands-on volunteering and charitable giving. We volunteer with SAVSIM, a veteran-centred non-profit organisation providing full-spectrum conservation support with a focus on collaboration and sustainability, and we regularly support the SKSST Sadavrat, which runs food banks and distributes food to people experiencing homelessness.

We continually assess methods to reduce our wastage and energy consumption whilst ensuring that we motivate and educate staff about green issues. We are a committed member of the Legal Sustainability Alliance which has been developed to support the move towards a low carbon economy and to run sustainable and efficient businesses and have joined the UK Green Building Council, which seeks to improve the sustainability of the built environment. In support of those aims, we have also signed the Greener Litigation Pledge, an initiative to reduce the environmental impact of dispute resolution.

Members of the Fenwick Elliott team work with a number of academic institutions providing free support and assistance teaching on a variety of courses. In particular, led by partner Nicholas Gould, we contribute to the MSc programme in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution at the Centre of Construction Law, King’s College London. This includes supporting King’s College’s commitment to research in the field of construction law which has been used to shape legislation and policy in the industry.

We work with FIDIC to support its Climate Change Charter. Partner Jeremy Glover was part of the team that prepared the Carbon Emissions Guidance issued in December 2025, contributing to practical steps that support the transition to net zero.

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Working Party on Public-Private Partnerships is focused on promoting sustainable development. Partner Dr Stacy Sinclair led a team of experts in drafting the UNECE Guide on improving the delivery of global infrastructure and PPP projects through digital transformation in support of the UN’s SDGs, and is now leading its AI & PPPs workstream.

Fenwick Elliott launched the Jon Miller Scholarship in 2025 in partnership with Queen Mary University London to support wider access for those from low income backgrounds in East London wishing to study law. The Scholarship is named in tribute to Fenwick Elliott partner Jon Miller, who passed away aged 60 in September 2024. Jon read law at QMUL after leaving school at 16 and starting an apprenticeship in the construction industry. The Scholarship includes a bursary, mentorship and work experience with the firm. One Scholarship is awarded each year to a student going into their first year of study at the QMUL’s School of Law, and the Scholarship supports them through each three years of their study at the university.
