Integrated security system for a national oil company, Middle East
Client: IT and technological services contractor
Region: Middle East
Industry: Oil & Gas – integrated security system
Our client faced potentially serious issues in connection with the default of a major subcontractor.
In addition, separate issues arose as to time and money entitlements under the main contract.
Fenwick Elliott has extensive experience of advising in connection with projects which are governed by the law of the Arab Gulf States and we are familiar with the issues which commonly arise under the Gulf State Civil Codes on major projects. We also have an extensive network of local counsel with whom we have worked previously and whose legal advice we trust.
We were able to assist our client to manage legal and practical difficulties arising out of the default of a major subcontractor, including a managed scope reduction and settlement of all accrued claims. We are also providing ongoing advice to our client in relation to legal issues arising under the main contract.
By combining our international experience of major projects with high quality local legal advice, we were able to offer our client practical and commercially sensible advice which enabled it to continue to focus on providing the highest quality product to its own client.
