Specialist expertise
Examples of Ruth’s expertise include:
- acting for one of China’s largest contractors in ICC arbitration proceedings in respect of claims arising under amended FIDIC Red Book for a large-scale infrastructure project. Amounts in dispute exceeded €50 million;
- acting for an international contractor in an ICC arbitration commenced by a subcontractor in relation to a processing plant in Morocco;
- acting for a joint venture in ICSID arbitration proceedings concerning Treaty claims with amounts in dispute exceeding US$80 million;
- acting for the employer in ICC arbitration proceedings in relation to claims arising under amended FIDIC Pink Book in relation to a hospital. Amounts in dispute exceeding €25 million;
- acting for a joint venture including one of the largest construction companies in the US in relation to disputes arising out of a major metro development in the Middle East. ICC arbitration proceedings concerned several hundreds of millions of US dollars, and involved issues concerning change orders, delay, and design issues;
- acting for a building services specialist in relation to a £10 million dispute in the TCC concerning alleged defects and delay issues at an entertainment complex; and
- acting for a Kuwaiti project developer in LCIA arbitration proceedings concerning a range of disputes arising out of an oil and gas processing project in the Middle East.
